Malaysia speaks English, Bahasa Melayu, Chinese and Tamil. India speaks many more languages. If your website only speaks one, you may be missing a large part of your audience.
Why it matters
- More people understand you. Visitors stay longer and trust you more when they read in their own language.
- Better search results. Each language can rank for the words people actually type.
- Respect. It shows customers you made an effort for them.
What to translate first
You don't have to translate everything on day one. Start with:
- The home page
- Your main service or product pages
- The contact page and forms
- Important notices, prices and policies
Doing it well
- One language per page, with a clear language switcher at the top.
- Separate web addresses for each language, so Google can show the right one.
- Real people check the text, especially headings and buttons.
- Fonts that support every script — Tamil and Chinese characters need the right fonts.
Examples from our work
- Helixia Biotech — English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese.
- Asia Smart Farming & Food Security — English and Bahasa Melayu for an international expo.
- Infant Jesus Shrine, Kavirayapuram — Tamil and English for pilgrims and visitors.
